My Story
In 2012, Pharrell Shaymar was preparing for his debut Kickboxing match. Following a training session where he stayed behind to practice kicking drills, he suffered a complete torn ACL. This incident resulted in encountering substandard training methods and coaches dismissing his abilities. Despite this, he decided to persist by attending training sessions to observe, which eventually led to him assisting coaches and progressing to holding pads for the fighters.
Pharrell initially was only asked to hold pads for specific fighters during training camps, gradually building his reputation among the fighters before gaining recognition from the coaches.
Recognized for his speed on the mitts, innovative drills, and precise pad-holding technique, Pharrell is known as The Pad Technician. This title reflects Pharrell's deep passion for coaching, pad work, and pads themselves, emphasising his attention to detail in various pad types and design focus.
If Pharrell isn't coaching or holding mitts, you'll find him thoroughly examining the various mitt styles available today. He delves deep into showcasing the brands, designs, and practicality of this essential tool in every coach's repertoire.
